Function: transfer gear shift motor is a part of four-wheel drive (4WD) system of some vehicles. It is responsible for switching between different two wheel drive and four-wheel drive options. The transfer case can switch between 4WD and 2WD through ECU reading command. When switching, the speed difference between gears will be quickly balanced and synchronized, which will not affect the vehicle direction control and wheel wear
Note: the NVG 246 transfer case can be identified by RPO code np8 and is not suitable for transfer case with RPO code Nr4. RPO code np8 is located inside the glovebox door
