Antiochos I Soter, as sole ruler of the Seleukid Empire, 281-261BC. Antiochos was half Greek and half Persian.  His father was Macedonian nobility, a general of Alexander the Great.  At a great ceremony in Susa in 324 BC, Alexander married the daughter of the late Persian king.  At the same ceremony Alexander had his generals marry eastern princesses. When Alexander died in 323BC, many of the generals unloaded their "Susa wives", but Antiochos' father kept his.
